As a movie poster designer, I suppose I'm part of this "problem" of marketing violence to children, or so most of Washington would have me believe.
It really is a non-issue, as both the Democrats and Republicans found something they can agree on, and oppose loudly in an election year without worry of actually making any sort of progress in managing the problem or our country.
McCain suggested "Why not simply say you will not market R-rated movies". Period? What he really seems to be saying is, "It's okay to market a SCHINDLER'S LIST, but not a SCARY MOVIE."
Once again, censorship creeps into the picture, in another misguided effort in trying to make the world "child-proof".
