Unlike this time last year, I didn't carve a pumpkin into a jack-o-lantern for Halloween. Thankfully, Michelle took care of all the knife wielding duties this year. Oooh, scary.

Believe it or not, there is an online campaign to protest the release of the upcoming second film in the Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Two Towers, because of the title's "reference" to the World Trade Center towers... Um, yeah.

The United States is always borrowing from abroad when it comes to entertainment. (The new film The Ring comes to mind as the latest example.) But what is interesting is when other cultures reuse American culture and entertainment, making it their own. For example, this version of Spider-Man appeared on television in Japan in the late 70s. (Of course, the Japanese version adds things like a spider sports car and giant robot, natch.)
