My copy of The Simpsons - The Complete Third Season DVD box set has finally arrived courtesy of Amazon.com. As Homer would say: "Whoo-hoo!"

The main reason to be excited about the Season 3 boxed set is it marks the beginning of the so-called "Golden Age" of The Simpsons. Gone are the shakey starts that were Season 1 and Season 2. From Season 3 through Season 7, almost every episode is letter perfect, and these seasons are what solidified the show as one of the greatest television series of all time. (The more recent seasons of The Simpsons don't hold the show to that golden standard, but fortunately, don't take away from it either.)

One mantra that most designers and Adobe Photoshop gurus follow is to NEVER use the Sharpen, Sharpen More, or Sharpen Edges filters in Adobe Photoshop. That leaves just one (often misunderstood) filter for all your sharpening needs: Unsharp Mask
