Family Guy Reunion

Family Guy on DVD Speaking of reunions, there is talk of bringing back the animated series Family Guy to television. The show, cancelled by Fox, is currently in reruns on the Cartoon Network (via their "Adult Swim" evening block of programming) and DVD. Apparently the show has proven so popular in reruns and DVD sales, Fox is rethinking the show. This would be the first case of a cancelled television show returning to a network purely based on it's post-network run success. I think the show was funny, but very hit-or-miss. Regardless, this gives hope to all the Family Guy fans, and anyone else that supports cancelled TV shows.

Van Halen Redux?

Best of Van Halen CD There's a rumor floating around the net today that Sammy Hagar is set to rejoin his former band Van Halen for a possible reunion album and tour. Could Van Hagar be back? (I'm sure they could all use the work.) Personally, I never had a problem with Sammy as the lead singer of the group - I thought his stint as frontman was just as enjoyable as the David Lee Roth era - it certainly was more successful than with "Diamond Dave". The last time I saw Van Halen live was on the Monsters of Rock tour back in 1988. (Now I feel old.)

Creepy Kidz Bop

Kids Bop CD Am I the only one really really disturbed by those Kidz Bop CDs, DVD and TV commercials? The albums are cover versions of recent pop hits sung by kids - the "Kidz Bop Kids", specifically. The TV commercials for the CDs really drive the creepiness home. Do you really want to hear kids announcing they are "still Jenny from the Block" or that they're "Gonna Getcha Good"? While the company claims these are all "kid-friendly" versions of their often raunchy pop originals, it seems to me they are missing the point. Do adults immediately lose all sense of good taste and reason when they have children?

Slight Redesign

Made a slight design change to the weblog - we've moved from the cliche of the leopard print of the 50s to the wood paneling style of the 60s. Type size and columns are a bit larger, and the site has embraced a table layout in all it's glory. There isn't a bit of clean HTML to be seen, and I'm sure it doesn't validate at all. Despite what the better informed and more important web designers say - CSS and browser quirks lead to just as many problems (for me) as using tables. Will hopefully finish updating the rest of the site and have any serious glitches stamped out in the next few days.
