After much speculation, the last of the "big DVD gaps" will be filled with the annoucement of a September 21, 2004 release date for the Star Wars Trilogy on DVD. Details have not been finalized, but the 4 disc set will probably mirror the format of the recently released Indiana Jones DVD set. (3 discs for the films, 1 disc for behind the scenes and extras. Rumor has it that George Lucas will be doing a commentary for the films.) With the good news also comes the bad: the films will be the "Greedo shoots first" Special Editions, rather than the original releases. To tide you over until the DVD release: a gratuitous photo of a (real) STAR WARS trading card showing C-3PO with a giant golden penis.
