Things have been busy, making this neglected weblog even more so. A few updates on recent activities:
• My Bettie Page fan site directory may be gone for good, thanks to some conflicting notices from her representatives. I haven't decided if I'll be putting the site back up - I'm not really interested in exploring the finer points of "rights of publicity" with regards to Ms. Bettie Page. She turned 81 on April 22nd, by the way. (I turned 33 the day before that.)
• I've been designing and helping launch a "crafty" new website for Michelle. Will post more info about that when it's ready to be officially launched. (It's in "soft launch" mode now - maybe you can find it!)
• Traffic has been spiking over at Adtunes.com, causing large bandwidth bills from our webhost. Because of this, I've finally rented a web server at ServerMatrix. Now I have to learn about Red Hat Linux and Server Administration so I can start moving some of my websites onto my own box. The first thing I did to configure the new server was find a Figlet ASCII Generator so I can generate a retro BBS style "Message of the Day" greeting when logging in. Reminds me of my youth when I ran a BBS.
• Speaking of Linux, I also have to learn MySQL and PHP programming so I can possibily add the long delayed "database of tv commercial music" to Adtunes.com.
• So far, I've lost roughly 37 pounds in 3.5 months on The South Beach Diet. You may hate the low carb cult that seems to be everywhere, but there's a reason everyone knows someone on a low carb diet - it works and more importantly, doesn't feel like torture.
