I don't even think I've made it all the way through this film. Doesn't have much to offer. Gina Gershon was a last minute replacement - they refilmed all the scenes involving her character because the previous actress wasn't up to snuff. The only reason I mention the film is that I designed the movie poster.

Pink Floyd: The Wall
Buy this DVD

Powerful motion picture version of the ground-breaking Pink Floyd album The Wall. Combines the music from the album (some of which was re-recorded for the movie) with a live action and animated retelling of a rock star's spiral into the abyss. One of the most depressing films you'll ever see.

Platoon
Buy this DVD

One of the best films covering the war in Vietnam. Captures the day-to-day madness facing the American foot-soldier "grunt" in the jungle. One of the few good performances of Charlie Sheen's career. The Christ imagery at the end is a bit much, but the film is well-crafted on almost every level.

Princess Bride, The
Buy this DVD

Quirky "fairy tale" film from director Rob Reiner. Screenwriter William Goldman offers a satirical spin on the swashbucking adventure story. Filled with fun and geniue laughs the whole way, although the film peeters out by the end. The theme song was nominated for an Academy Award Oscar.

Psycho
Buy this DVD

My favorite Alfred Hitchcock film and one of the best horror films of all time. Creepy and ground breaking (female lead gone for two thirds of the film?), the black and white adds to the uneasiness. Anthony Perkins is perfect as motel manager Norman Bates and his... (well, you'll just have to see the movie).

Psycho (1998)
Buy this DVD

Fascinating train wreck of a motion picture. After the success of GOOD WILL HUNTING, director Gus Van Sant used his "any film project I want" card to make a shot-for-shot color remake of the classic Hitchcock film PSYCHO. What's strange is that his promise to literally copy the previous film's scenes goes out the window during the famous "shower scene". It's like driving by a car wreck.

Pulp Fiction
Buy this DVD

Easily the best film of the 1990s and certainly one of the most influential of all time. Quentin Tarantino followed up his indie favorite RESERVOIR DOGS with this set of interwoven short stories that are played out in various chronologies. Revived John Travolta's career and made self "unaware" dialog into a new term: Tarantinoesque.
